Route 53 has long been discussed about a potential expansion to alleviate traffic congestion with a price tag of almost $2.6 billion. The Customer Service and Planning Committee has officially recommended an environmental impact study of the Route 53 expansion north into Lake County. The recommendation will go to a full board vote on Thursday, May 25th. The study, if approved, is expected to take three to five years to complete. Read more here.
